These raccoons love to be held!

Their raccoon Mommy had them in a storm drain and it rained. They nearly drowned.  Carol was called to rescue them.  They were so tiny and in so much trouble!  There are no rescue programs in Ohio for raccoons either. They survived and are living happily on the farm!

They love people too!  They are tame and cannot live in the wild forest like other raccoons, but they have NO complaints.  Would you believe these raccoons have their own gymnasium and a swimming pool? And fresh fruit anytime they please.

And don't let them fool you!

They have many places to sleep!

Sometimes we feel like celebrities!!

IF you like, I'll autograph your shoelace!

I love to sneak into the center of a picture!!  Just as it is being snapped!  Here's Patch and Donald.. and our rooster friend.  See.....that's ME in the middle!

A good story before an afternoon nap.

It's great being me!

Here I get a DOUBLE NECK scratch.

I had a super conversation with Joe!

Treats for Trooper!

And...... this is how I handle an empty treat box!

HINT!   HINT!

Yes Mommy, It's EMPTY AGAIN!!

OK....now I have to tell you something really really WEIRD... The people with the cameras came to see us...and.....that was cool!

But..well...

Recently, I noticed people have been wearing this shirt!

And, it's me!  Me in the pink bucket!  this was drawn off my baby picture!!

Did I become famous??  When did it happen?  What did I do different?

Hmmmmm.

And now...lately....I have to be honest with you!

I'm a little confused..my guests go from happy to sometimes kind of sad and frustrated. I've met alot of new people including older people and even little babies.  I'm not complaining! I love meeting new people!

But...there's something in the air....I can feel it.  Mommy and Daddy are worried.  Mommy has had some things going on with her health.  I know the days when she doesn't feel good.  I sense when she is really tired... It's amazing how no matter what, my Mommy is always there.  She is there for all of us!!  Even when she doesn't feel as good, she keeps on working and working to make sure we live excellent lives!!  I am so blessed!!

But what is it that I feel?  It's something different and I don't like it.

I think there are mean people somewhere out there and they havent treated my Mommy and Daddy very nice at all!

Please, help... something is wrong..I don't know exactly what it is, but something is terribly wrong... and I haven't been able to put my hoove on it...Patch feels it too.

Trooper and Patch are correct. There is something deeply wrong. They do need your help and most importantly your prayers!  In October of 2012 someone for exact reasons unknown decided to turn Carol into the State for possession of "wildlife."  The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) has threatened to come onto Carol's property and kill Trooper, Patch and their raccoon friends, throwing their bodies into a landfill.  WHY? Good question! They claim the animals are wild. They overlook the fact that Trooper was born and injured on Carol's farm.  Patch was brought to her near death.  She did what any one of us should do when we encounter someone who's injured or suffering.  She helped them.  Carol who is a retired veterinary technician has been repeatedly denied permit forms.  The tame pet deer recently received a clean bill of health from The Department of Agriculture and have been granted official tags.

These animals want to live out their lives in peace with their family.

Due to Carol's heart condition and cancer treatments, the trial has been moved to 12/6/12.  ***The deer's hearing for 11/12 has been postponed also due to Carol's health.

Numerous letters have been written to the ODNR as well as the Governor of the State of Ohio. Multiple phone calls have also been placed. Thus far, Governor Kasich himself is believed to not be responding.  We continue to be met with extreme apathy by staff surrounding the Governor.  Now, months later the ODNR still refuses to issue papers for a permit.    We continue attempts to reach the Governor...

This behavior is NOT acceptable!  There are no actual laws giving the ODNR the authority to come out and kill healthy rescued animals.   There are no laws stating they have the right to deny paperwork for a permit.  These are just their "policies."  We will NOT give up the fight!  These policies need to be changed for the sake of Trooper, Patch and their raccoon friends as well as future injured fawn and raccoons.

We have set up a fund raising account and all donations for legal expenses are welcome.  Check or money orders can be sent to Saving Trooper  PO Box 461, Mount Vernon, OH 43050.

UPDATE:Trial postponed till December. Several days prior to Saving Trooper's scheduled press conference at the State Capital Building in Columbus, OH. in order to present Gov.Kasich with 15,000 plus petition signatures, ODNR resigned all attempts to destroy Trooper & friends. ODNR also walked away just before the hearing & trial.  All charges DROPPED!!  Life won!

Please visit our facebook site which now has more than 12,000 hits.  Saving Trooper turns their efforts toward public education and charity events.

Also,we suggest that all people become aware of Giggles the fawn from Wisconsin. She was rescued and waiting to be taken to a rehab facility when WI DNR wearing swat like gear broke into the warehouse where she stayed and executed her. Her rescuers are still heartbroken today.  The public outcry was huge. We must not allow another situation like this to occur. This senseless and barbaric killing has got to stop!
